FABIG is organising one of the main sessions at the Piper 25 Conference organised by Oil & Gas UK

Oil & Gas UK is organising a major offshore safety conference - Piper 25 - to mark the 25th anniversary of the Piper Alpha disaster. This three-day event will be held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from the 18th to the 20th June 2013. The conference will bring together people from across the Oil & Gas industry to reflect on the lessons learnt from the disaster, review how far offshore safety has evolved since and to reinforce industry commitment to continuous improvement.

FABIG is organising one of the main sessions at the Piper 25 Conference. Entitled "Advances in Fire & Explosion Engineering" the FABIG session will be held on the afternoon of the opening day (18 June) and will retrace the advances in Fire & Explosion Engineering from the time of the Piper Alpha disaster to the present day.  It will cover advances in the management of fire & explosion hazards, the understanding of explosion and fire loading, the use of novel mitigation techniques, structural design against fires & explosions and the application of risk assessment.

All the information on the Piper 25 conference is available from the Oil & Gas UK website at http://www.oilandgasuk.co.uk/events/Piper25.cfm.
