Lunchtime Webinar | Hydrogen jet fire threats at 850 bar versus those at 250 bar for pipe targets - Davood Zeinali, RISE Fire Research
Add to CalendarTITLE: | Hydrogen jet fire threats at 850 bar versus those at 250 bar for pipe targets |
SPEAKER: | Davood Zeinali, RISE Fire Research |
DURATION: | 1 hour (45 min + Q&A) |
TIME: | 13.00 to 14.00 (BST) |
ABSTRACT: | This webinar will discuss experiments conducted by RISE Fire Research in Norway as part of the SH2IFT-2 project, focusing on gaseous hydrogen jet fire impacts on equipment with and without Passive Fire Protection (PFP) coatings. Such coatings are typically tested against propane jet fire tests according to ISO 22899-1 and ISO 22899-3, although the differences of such propane fires from hydrogen fires are not fully characterized for PFP coatings. This webinar will provide a characterization of hydrogen jet fires at 250 and 850 bar in terms of the fire size, heat load, and erosive forces obtained on a pipe target. Additionally, the webinar will provide an overview of findings from PFP-coated pipe targets tested against short-distance impingement from such hydrogen jet fires, highlighting areas with potential for improvements. |
