Assessment of the uniformity of the jet fire test procedure

FABIG Members: Log-in to access all FABIG resources

SUMMARY

Earlier Interim Jet Fire Test (IJFT) procedure reports showed that small scale indoor propane vapour releases showed the similar jet fire characteristics as full scale jet fires ten times larger. The size of the IJFT test facility allow tests to be carried out economically in an area protected from the environment and thus are attractive as a standard test procedure. This report looks at the uniformity of results from three laboratories.

This report and the work it describes were funded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Its contents, including any opinions and/or conclusions expressed, are those of the author(s) alone and do not necessarily reflect HSE policy
