Test Programme F3 - Confined Jet and Pool Fires - Final Report

SUMMARY

SINTEF Energy - Norwegian Fire Research Laboratory (NBL) has carried out a series of fire tests with confined jet and pool fires, according to the test programme F3 of Blast and Fire Engineering for Topside structures. This is the main report presenting the findings from the final test programme of 15 jet fires and 7 pool fires, in two compartment sizes, 135 m3 and 415 m3.

The test results are compared with results from a previous test series in the 135 m3 compartment.

The report is presenting extensive and reliable quality data for modellers and gives a basis for guidance on the hazard consequences of offshore fires and their mitigation by water deluge.
