Parloc 96: The update of loss of containment data for offshore pipelines

SUMMARY

Describes the work involved in the coallation of data and the compilation of two databases, one covering all North Sea pipelines and one listing the incidents. Updates the database of incidents involving North Sea offshore pipelines in which containment was lost or jeopised to include incidents occurring up to the end of 1995 and to revise the published PARLOC 94. The main objective of this continuing study is to update and improve confidence in the statistical information available to assess the generic frequency of loss of containment associated with operation of North Sea pipelines.
